Cinderlane

Cinderlane was not pretty. It was a correspondence prototype with more warnings than buttons. That was the point. We needed to feel how a sealed letter fails before we dressed it for a dashboard.

Attachments leaked in the first builds. Subject lines escaped. We kept the scars in the write-up so later engineers would not repeat the romance of ‘it encrypts’ without asking what, when, and where the key lives.

Midtown Vault is Cinderlane after it grew up. Arcanus Mail is Vault with a city on the letterhead.
